Since its founding in 1849, Eastern Michigan University has grown from a small teacher’s college to a major learning and research institution with a distinct mix of comprehensive academic resources and strong community initiatives. The University offers more than 200 undergraduate majors and 150 graduate programs to nearly 16,000 students in the following colleges:

THE COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCES

The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), EMU’s largest college, offers dynamic academic programs in the Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences. With more than 2,000 courses, including the majority of EMU’s General Education Program, CAS provides opportunities to engage in artistic and research activities that foster critical thinking, creativity, civic and community partnerships, global awareness, and passion for lifelong learning.

THE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION

EMU’s College of Education has maintained a reputation for excellence in the preparationof teachers, administrators, and other school personnel throughout Michigan and around the world. Department areas include Teacher Education, Special Education and Leadership and Counseling. The College offers a comprehensive range of bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees, including many with online and extensive non-degree and certification learning experiences.

THE COLLEGE OF BUSINESS

EMU’s College of Business (COB) has been named a “Best Business School” by The Princeton Review every year since 2003 and offers a cutting-edge curriculum that equips today’s students for tomorrow’s global business environment. The COB helps students learn skills in ethical decision-making, critical thinking and strategic leadership. Several programs, including those in HR and Integrated Marketing Communications, Accounting and Finance and the MBA in International Business, are highly regarded.

THE COLLEGE OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES

The College of Health and Human Services provides industry-leading academic knowledge and practical, real-world training opportunities to the healthcare and human service professionals of tomorrow. There are four schools: Nursing, Social Work, Health Sciences and Health Promotion and Human Performance. The College stresses collaboration and teaches students how to work closely with colleagues across various disciplines, and its Clinical Research Administration program is one of the top programs in the U.S.

THE GAMEABOVE COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY

The GameAbove College of Engineering and Technology (GACET) provides world-class experiences in engineering, technology, cybersecurity, autonomous vehicles, drone technology, gaming, aviation, and other areas of study in high-demand career fields. Students in the GACET learn, study and create primarily in Roosevelt Hall and in Sill Hall, which recently underwent a dramatic $40 million renovation and includes labs for virtual reality, robotics, 3D printing and mechanical engineering research.

THE HONORS COLLEGE

The Honors College at EMU provides a small college experience with all the benefits of a large comprehensive university for highly qualified and motivated students. Honors students engage in enriching, empowering, and rewarding college experiences that go beyond the norm. Being part of The Honors College means being part of a community of engagement through scholarship, personal and professional development, and social activities.
