Our campus offers residential hall style living with single, double, triple, quad, and quint configurations, in addition to apartment options on and off campus. Apartments are only available to continuing students.

Within our residential college system, themed housing is a popular option for students who wish to further explore their identities and interests in a mutually supportive environment. Some examples include the Rosa Parks African American Theme House, the Merrill College Indigenous Peoples floor, trans inclusive housing options, single gender floors and our gaming community.

New first year, transfer and visiting students are eligible for a one-year on campus housing guarantee. In total, 49% of our student body lives in UCSC campus housing, and 96% of first year students live on campus. We also offer our Community Rentals Office, which helps students find rentals off campus in the area.
