Dining-Cowell/Stevenson Dining Hall
Students at UC Santa Cruz have plenty of fresh, appetizing choices at our 5 dining halls and 14 other eateries on campus including cafes, markets, and our campus bistro.
The Cowell/Stevenson Dining Hall, located on the hill above the East Field, features a fantastic view of the Pacific Ocean, with outdoor patio dining available to capture the crisp ocean breezes. Our students enjoy delicious meals which include options for vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, halal and allergen-free foods as well.
Around 30% of the food served in our dining halls is grown on our 30 acre organic farm, alongside other local sources from the Santa Cruz community, the Monterey Bay area and Central California. Our campus bakery bakes the delicious breads, pastries and desserts that are served each day. This aligns with our efforts to serve locally sourced food.
Our Cowell Coffee Shop next to the Cowell-Stevenson dining hall is a spot for students to hang out and study while enjoying free coffee and meals. On the other side of campus at Rachel Carson College is our Redwood Free Market which provides basic needs items for free to students such as, but not limited to, produce, non-perishable foods, toiletries, and household items.
