STUDENT LIFE

STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS

When we say “College is more than going to class,” we mean it. There are hundreds of student clubs and organizations for you to join—from cultural to community service, political to academic, hobby, sport, religious and more. Plan a dance marathon fundraiser with LoboTHON or join the Student Alumni Association. Game with UNM Esports or promote food sustainability with the Lobo Gardens Club. Don’t see the right group for you? Start your own. Student organizations are a great way to meet people, make friends, and discover—together—what it means to be a Lobo.

GREEK LIFE

The history of Fraternity & Sorority Life at the University dates back more than 120 years and has had a significant impact. Today, our students, 41% of whom are first-generation, are committed to making a difference in the communities they live and learn. With a strong focus on academic performance and leadership development, it is no wonder why students in Fraternity & Sorority Life are found in leadership positions across campus. We are very proud to have a system devoted to change and positive growth.

CAMPUS CULTURE
IS ROOTED IN CUISINE.

CUISINEAlbuquerque’s unique flavors are found everywhere at UNM. Because here, dining can be an experience as well as a dish. That’s why you’ll find our culinary culture outside of the kitchen, too. We share in the moment and the meal. Roasting the unofficial food of New Mexico—green chile—outside and by the ton. Hosting food festivals across campus to feature local farmers in unexpected celebrations of food and drink. Food is a lifestyle here. For a list of on and off-campus dining options, click here.

STATISTICALLY SPEAKING, STUDENTS
WHO LIVE ON CAMPUS ACHIEVE
HIGHER GPAs THAN THOSE WHO DON’T.

One of the best choices you can make as you start your college career is to live close to campus. Right on campus, even better because you should be spending your time being here, not getting here.
